ABOUT THE ARTIST
Hi there! My name is Kara, and I am the artist behind Black Feather Arts & Crafts. I am based in rural, northern Illinois, where I am building an in-home workspace and studio on a beautiful piece of wooded farmland. This is a big dream of mine that has been set in motion far earlier than I ever could have expected!
I grew up in an old farmhouse only a few miles down the road. With nothing much else to do at age 9 or 10, I started to draw. My entire catalog of work for the next 3-5 years were Disney characters, and my medium was colored pencils. As I got older and sports and school took over, art faded into the background, and I really didn’t pick it up again until I was in my late 20’s.
Eco-Conscious Choices
Black Feather Arts & Crafts strives to be as eco-friendly as possible, from product materials and choices to packaging. When products must be ordered in bulk, all stock is kept in house and shipped in recycled, recyclable, sustainable and/or biodegradable packaging.
When products do not need to be ordered in bulk, drop-shipping is used. Drop-shipping utilizes on-demand printing which avoids overproduction of both products and waste, as it only creates a product when there is already a buyer.

Printful
Drop-shipping is an eco-friendly choice by nature simply because products are made on demand once there is already a buyer.
Traditional shopping chains always manufacture items in bulk (to save money) which causes over-production. Excess items that don't get sold are often thrown out or burned.
Feel Good Bonus: The company donates returned items to local charities and offers damaged apparel to animal shelters who can use them for their needs.
